Of Intent
Katie Parsons
I will
comply to the ASA rules and make sure that my content is age appropriate and is
safe to advertise-containing no nudity or any offensive words/comments/scenes.
I will take
into consideration that my posters are a representation of the companies(y) they
are owned by and that there will be no negative representation shown towards
the intended target audience. The production of these posters are intended for
entertainment purposes only-which in return would spark a creative and active
interest by the audience.
To appeal to
the primary target audience, I aim to use a bright, luminous colour scheme
which would catch their eye. I will use my own photographs which draw the
audience in, sparking their interest. For my posters I intend to focus more on Ballroom
dancing, which doesn’t particularly get a lot of recognition compared to
mainstream sports such as: Football, Rugby, Boxing etc. For the entirety of this
project, I have taken inspiration from an old TV channel called “Come Dancing”,
which was a dancing competition that had a large audience. As well as “Come
Dancing”, there is also another current popular dancing competition called “Strictly Come Dancing” which I have also taken inspiration from. I
believe that because these two shows have had such a large audience, I feel as
though there is a sum of people that would be willing to view my posters;
further encouraging them to watch the show.
To possibly
gain more appreciation and have a connection with the evolving audience, I have
tried to break the typical stereotypes within my posters, by using a
woman/woman dance pairing, instead of the traditional female/male.
